I love the writing process with artists, because I get the chance to really connect with them and to use that to create with them. Just by having a conversation, it is possible to start the creative process. The most important thing I find is that life cannot stop when starting to write. Isolation is not ideal, as the external influences have a huge impact on the current emotional state. I love going out and doing something fun and then reflecting on that through song. Also, it opens the channels for creativity. Songwriting is easily the most personal thing you can do with someone, trust plays a huge part. To be able to open yourself without fear of judgement, or sharing personal and intimate details or the motivation behind a song.

Once the emotional is out of the way, it's time to be a business person. Exploiting your songs is important, whether you are going to sing them yourself or try to place them with an artist.
